Homecraft Pick-Up Reacher Modification
The client had difficulty picking up certain objects, such as a television remote control or house DECT phone, using the standard reacher as they have a weakened grip and the standard reacher was only able to hold the sides of the object.
The solution
The solution was to create a modification to the standard reacher. The new design curves round, so it is able to ‘scoop’ the object from underneath and draw it into the grabber. This makes it easier to pick up and easier to maintain hold of as it is more secure.
The design has been made so that it can be printed on a small home 3D printer and is available to download for free from our website. See the More Information section below for links to the ENABL3D.ME website and 3D printing services if you don’t have access to a 3D printer.
The benefit
Our client is now able to easily pick up common objects more easily with little risk of them being dropped.
